5 Stars Great Battery. Not Just For Iphone, Fits Everything
This product works great with basically EVERYTHING! It comes with the iphone adapter but with any usb connector, it can charge whatever item has as adapter. I saw the pic that another customer left, and that was the turning point that got me to buy this over the competition pieces. It charged all my gadgets, at the same time, and still had juice left for more. Great item, with a fair price. What more could you ask for. Very satisfied, a definite 5 stars.
1 Star Doesn’t include power adaptor
Be aware that you won’t receive the AC adaptor. You can buy same with adaptor for same price. Apart from that, product is great.
5 Stars Best on the market!
I searched the internet long and hard reading as many reviews and articals as I could about Iphone 3g and 3gs external battery packs. There are several good or better batteries on the market, all with pro’s and con’s. I’m a type person who doesn’t mind paying more for a product that truly gives you more… be it in quality, warrenty and/or customer service. I purchased the IMP500 and I couldn’t be happier. First price wise, it was middle of the road $58, high end batteries being $75-$100 , low end $30-$50. Most of the low end batteries use AA batteries to charge and that didn’t seem to me that much better than the iphone battery as far as longivity. Looking at all the others, what I wanted most was power, and hands down, the imp gives 3 to 5 times the recharging power of even the most expensive other batteries. The overall size of the IMP500 is give or take the same size as most of the other batteries. Most of the others are connected directly into the USB connection at the bottom of the iphone. What concerned me about that is unless your charging on a flat serface, there is cause for concern that the connection will bend and damage the very fragil posts inside the adapter or even worse, damage the iphone externally as well. The IMP uses cables which is less likely to add damaging tension to the connection. Since the IMP pack is round and very slick on the outside, I simply slide it in my back pocket, inner jacket pocket or shirt pocket and run the cables to my Iphone to charge and use/watch. If you order directly from the company, they include free of charge a AC adapter as well as all the other adapters advertized here and most every where else plus they give free shipping on all orders more than $48 which this would be. The company give a 30 day, 100% money back guarantee if your not totally satisfied with the product. You do have to pay for the return shipping, not if it’s defective. All things considered , Price, Warrenties, Quality ( The (China) company makes over 30% of every iphone/cell phone batteries in the World ) this is the battery for me to buy. I really like buying USA over anywhere else and that was a consideration of mine but like the auto industry, american companies need to take note of this product and come out with an even better product. When and/or if they do and if I’m in the market, I’ll look long and hard at what they have to offer. Till then…IMP500 is the product for me! P.S. It would be great if a company could design a battery as powerful as the IMP that was thinner, smaller and that could hold the iphone and headset all in one attractive, protective case. I know thats asking alot but thats what made AMERICA so great!
3 Stars Nice capacity, button wears out
I will chime in with the comments on the battery capacity of the IMP-500. We used it extensively on our trip to Birmingham, England and back. 26 hours of flight time and a good 8 hours of airport time. It kept our two iPhone charged nicely.
When we purchased our first two IMP-500′s one would not charge. We shipped it back to the vendor and received a new one. No problem.
Now the on/off switch on one of the IMP-500′s will not work without excessive force. My sense is the switch consists of two metal plates which touch together, and they are no longer closing the circuit.
I don’t think it has anything to do with the 2-3 second delay, which is a nice feature and keeps the battery from accidently turning on when bumped in the briefcase.
Without the ability to turn the battery on and off easily the battery is pretty much unusable.
So, while I like the capacity of the battery and it’s ease of use, as well as the good product support, the switch is most definately a design weakness in my mind and I would probably not purchase another IMP-500.
4 Stars It Works – need a bit of polish
It looks like a good travel battery when you need a charge and I like the fact that it is pretty universal in what it can charge. What it doesn’t come with is a wall adapter to charge the battery. Thankfully the iPhone comes with a very small wall source to USB adapter rated at 110-240v and thus you can charge with that adapter. Probably better with the Apple device anyway. My vote is that its a good portable battery when you can’t find a wall plug.
You can also tell that this a Chinese created device, the instructions and packaging should have proof read by someone who is fluent in English. The packaging is nice the poor english greatly detracts from it. The use of Times New Roman fonts on the device also detracts from its design. The font’s use makes it look like a knock off. I would also suggest that the product be reviewed and approved by the Underwriter Laboratories for safety and given the UL approval. We all know we will charge it at night in a hotel room and would never want the ability to start a fire.
So far I still like this device much more than a jacket battery. I will charge my phone when needed vs always having a jacket battery to carry around. If it lasts three years that would still be a good deal.
