5 Stars Comfortable and an Escape from the Outside World
I don’t currently use these earbuds portably; I instead use them at my desk so as not to disturb those around me. In that, these earbuds succeed perfectly. Even if you turn up the music very loud, the people on the outside will not hear your music at all, unlike with earbuds that only rest in your ears. With the way these things expand in your ears, you’re not about to be disturbed by those around you either. When music is playing, I was unable to even hear my cell phone ring. In short, they provide a great buffer between you and the outside world if you want that.
Another great thing is that these earbuds remain comfortable even after wearing for hours. My biggest fear was that this would not be the case.
They, of course, take more time to insert and remove than earbuds that just rest. You have to squeeze the material to insert into your ear, and then you have to hold it in place while the memory foam expands. But the cost-benefit ratio of this time spent VS comfort and a buffer against reality falls in favor of these earbuds.
I’ve not owned extremely high sound quality devices in the past, so I’ll admit I don’t have the best frame of reference to judge these earbuds. Look to other reviews for that. I think the sound quality is good, personally.
For the price, this is a great buy.
4 Stars Finally, a decent pair!
As another reviewer on Amazon noted, he collects headphones. I partake in that hobby as well, although I’m more into earbuds specifically. I’ve amassed quite a few of them over the years. I never find a pair that fits quite right. Either they hurt my ears, fall out, or both. It’s frustrating, believe me.
The reason I search for the perfect earbud is that I like music while motorcycling, and while I’m not on a large Harley, my little sport bike winds high enough between the engine and wind noise, its tough to hear. Sure, I could crank stuff up, but I don’t want to be deaf in two years, so the search continued. I needed a foamy earpiece, that was small enough to allow me to slide my helmet on without pulling them out of my ear. So far, this is the best I’ve found. They fit slim and snug against and in my ear. The sound quality is just fine if you ask me. And the foam blocks out a lot of other noise, so I can keep my volume down.
So far, I’m pretty happy. We’ll see how their lifespan is.
2 Stars Neither isolation or sound is as good as expected
I purchased these headphones looking for decent sound isolation, not caring quite as much about how they sound as how many db they can block on flights. After trying for a long time to get them to conform to my ear, with both sizes, spending varying amounts of time working them smaller before quickly jamming them in my ear I gave up. I was able to get a tight fit, and able to hear decent bass, but they blocked much less sound than I was expecting, significantly less sound than my Skullcandy Ink’Ds.
The sound isn’t bad, and is way better than stock ipod earbuds, but it sounds slightly muddy in the midrange and sounds blend together rather than sticking out. They do sound more natural than the Ink’Ds, I suppose I could wait to break them in over a longer period of time and see if they get better – which is what I would do if they isolated sound better.
They are also more comfortable than the Ink’ds, but they also take a while to get into the ear with a tight fit, which was annoying enough to make me want to return them.
1 Star Very tinny, no bass response at all
These were horrible. However, the store was nice and slow about their return; but I got a check about 2 months later.
3 Stars Ok but there are better at this price range
These are Ok but the Skullcandys are way better when it comes to sound quality and comfort.
