The LiquidAUX Deluxe is tailor-made for the iPhone (1G and 3G); the iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation); all iPod generations (1st through 6th); and the iPod touch

Fingertip Control
The steering wheel-mounted remote control is designed to be mounted with the controls on the interior of your steering wheel. he remote conveniently allows you to play, pause, and skip music files with just your thumb, allowing you to keep your hands on the wheel.

Convenience
The dock adjusts to fit the iPhone and most iPod models without removing them from the case, and a smart audio sensor controls the kit’s power automatically. Kensington’s LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit is compatible with the iPhone (1G and 3G); iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation); all iPod generations (1st through 6th); and iPod touch. Note: An auxiliary port in your car is required for the LiquidAUX Deluxe.

Support
Backed by Kensington’s two-year warranty, the LiquidAUX also comes with free technical support.

Important Note: Sound Effects
When using an auxiliary device in the car, you might hear a slight buzzing sound, engine noise, or high-pitched whine. That is because your car model has a grounding issue between the audio system and the power socket, which causes a whining or buzzing sound when you drive. This sound is not caused by your Kensington product; however, Kensington has an easy solution. Simply purchase an automotive ground loop isolator for your car that is compatible with a 3.5-mm jack. This simple tool will enable you to use your music in a safe, hands-free environment.

Kensington can provide you with a ground loop isolator free of charge by calling Kensington’s Technical Support team at (800) 535-4242. Please provide the serial number of your LiquidAUX product when you call Technical Support, and the company will arrange to ship you the ground loop isolator.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars It works as advertised but lacks solid feel/quality
I’ve been using the LiquidAUX Deluxe for a little over a month now and can say that it works as advertised. The remote can be a little quirky (doesn’t work 100% of the time). Biggest problem I have is with the build/quality of the system. As some others have noted, the cradle is very plasticky and mine is starting to make some creaking noises (not sure if its from the cradle or the part that is stuck in the 12V outlet). Sound is 1000% better than any FM modulator system that I’ve used and I like the fact that my iPhone is within reach to answer calls, etc. Overall I’m happy with the purchase, I haven’t been able to find another product out there that has the same connectivity and features as the LiquidAUX Deluxe. Price is reasonable, if a little high (given the substandard quality).

4 Stars Great Product, with a Minor Flaw
When I first saw this item I thought it was exactly what I was looking for to use with my iPhone 3G. Even so, I read lots of reviews on this product before purchasing. I was disappointed with it at first, but after some tweaking I was able to get it working perfectly.

The reason I gave this thing 4 stars is that there is a minor flaw in its design, which probably contributes to most users’ problems with it. That is the fact that the metal doo-dad on the tip of the lighter socket connector wasn’t long enough to make solid contact with the positive terminal at the base of the lighter socket itself. There is a plastic washer/insulator at the base of the lighter socket that made the connector stand off just enough to prevent solid contact. I drive a 2007 Nissan Frontier, and since Nissan probably uses the same lighter socket in all of their vehicles this is probably an issue for all Nissan drivers when using this product. In fact, it’s likely that the same lighter sockets are used in other manufacturers’ vehicles as well, so it could be that many more people are having this problem.

This minor flaw meant that the unit would lose its power connectivity any time I hit a bump or turned a corner, at which point my iPhone would reset and stop playing. I was able to fix the issue with a very minor modification that involved removing the screw-on tip and filing 1/16 of an inch off the base of it, which allowed the metal tip to protrude that much further. Now, when I insert the connector into the socket it makes solid contact and works perfectly even over the roughest roads. Now on to the features…

I’ve only had this item for a few weeks, so I can’t attest to its long-term durability. What I can say, though, is that the mounting system is very clever, and so far works great. Universal devices are often large and clunky, but this one is much smaller than it looks in the pictures. The adjustable side arms and the clever adjustable back support work very well to keep my iPhone securely in place and with a solid connection. It even works well with the iPhone in a case if you remove the snap-in spacer around the connector, and the quick-release mechanism makes it simple to remove the iPhone from the holder. The flexible arm is a little bit short, but it allows plenty of flexibility to position the phone in any orientation. I can see, though, that certain configurations might allow it to move around a little more than most people would like, such as if you had the flexible arm in a horizontal position. In my truck, though, the arm is pretty much vertical, so it all stays well put. As for sound quality, I have the Rockford Fosgate (premium) sound system in my Frontier, and sound quality is excellent. I don’t hear any noise between songs or during quiet parts within songs.

Overall I’m very pleased with the product. Time will tell as to its long-term durability.

1 Star Junk
I was pretty excited about this piece of gear. It arrived @ 10 am and I got it to the car quickly.

First thing I noticed is that the upper joint between the gooseneck and the holder was loose… so no matter what I did, the iphone was too heavy and it flopped over to the side. bummer! So the phone won’t stay straight but maybe I can prop it up [I thought].

Maybe the saving grace would be the remote so I started a song from the iphone and tried to push the >] next song button… ouch! it starts fast forwarding. The crazy thing gets into some kind of a loop that was jumping between regular play and fast forwarding over and over and over. Junk.

I don’t know who engineered this and who built it, but I hope it isn’t American. It is pure junk and was headed back to Amazon by 2pm the same day.

I highly recommend you DONT buy this.

5 Stars Great Product
Works great with my iphone 3GS. You can either adjust the arms or use the provided arm clips to have it fit tight and not move during driving. I have yet to have it move or come free even off road with my truck. The included remote is great and sits firmly on the steering wheel for easy access. The only thing I could think of that would make it better would be having the remote work in apps like Pandora, Slacker, etc. As it stands, it only works for the iPod feature. Even better, if you happen to have a vehicle that has noise/interference from the audio input jack, Kensington will send you a sound isolater free of charge.

3 Stars The remote does not work with iPhone 3Gs
Hi,

I bought this product, after 2 weeks of use heres my review of this product -

Pros

- It Charges your iPhone.

Cons

- The remote does not work with iPhone 3Gs. I tried everything from pairing to replacing the batteries.

- There’s a static hiss always on the car speakers( when connected through car AUX), I noticed it on Toyota(RAV4 and Camry). I also tried on my friends Honda Civic and i noticed that the static speaker hiss does not go away.

- The construction of the product is very cheap. The whole thing is very brittle. If you turn the mount with little effort it would break.

- It does not stay in one position while you drive the car , because of the iPhone weight the Liquid Aux move the iPhone around.

- The prop cable of Liquid Aux is very small. This mean while driving the car you cant reach out to your iPhone.

BottomLine

==========

- Not worth your money if all you are going to use it is for charging the iPhone.
